Each team member brings unique expertise, but we’re united in our commitment to listening, understanding, and walking alongside you on your health journey.

Dr. Simone Norris

Founder & Medical Director

A San Antonio native with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Norris blends her background in family medicine, integrative medicine, and yoga to create a truly patient-centered approach. She’s passionate about listening to each patient’s story and guiding them toward meaningful wellness.

Dr. Simone Norris is a native of San Antonio. She graduated with honors from St. Mary’s University, and obtained her MD degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Dr. Norris served for 7 years in the United States Air Force, completing her residency training in Family Medicine, and serving as Chief Resident at Andrews AFB, Washington, DC, followed by service at Misawa AB, Japan and Randolph AFB, TX. Prior to opening IFM, Dr. Norris held a decade-long faculty position with Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program, helping to influence the minds and practices of many of our best local family doctors in San Antonio. In 2009, Dr. Norris completed a 2 year fellowship in Integrative Medicine through Dr. Andrew Weil’s Program in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona. She completed her RYT-200 hour teacher training Yoga Certification in 2016.
Integrative Family Medicine is the culmination of Dr. Norris’ vision to create a truly patient-centered practice with a holistic approach, a listening ear, and a compassionate heart. She enjoys learning her patients’ stories and guiding them through their health journey.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Norris’ passions are family, yoga, interior design, movies, dancing, singing and comedy. She and husband Dr. Tito Norris enjoy traveling and outdoor activities with their three children.

Amanda John, MPAS, PA-C, IFMCP

Physician Assistant

Certified in functional medicine, Amanda helps patients uncover the root causes of illness and make lasting lifestyle changes. Her work is inspired by her own health journey and the joy of helping others reclaim their well-being.

Amanda John is a Physician Assistant certified in Functional Medicine. She is passionate about helping people uncover the root cause of their illness and steer them back toward a path of health and well-being. This passion is fueled by her path to wellness and the joy and success she has found in helping others do the same. She believes that changing your lifestyle can have an amazing, long-lasting impact in improving quality of life and wellness.
Amanda attended the University of Denver and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 2009. She then received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2011. Amanda has been certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine as a Certified Practitioner after completing their program in 2023.
In her free time, Amanda spends time with her three young children and husband. You can usually find them riding bikes, playing at the park, or cooking healthy meals together.

Dr. Sandra Bocangel, L.Ac, MAcOM, Dipl. OM, MD (Mexico)

Acupuncturist / Traditional Chinese Medicine

With training in both Western and Chinese medicine, Dr. Bocangel offers a unique, holistic approach to pain management, autoimmune conditions, digestive health, and more — blending acupuncture, herbal medicine, and lifestyle guidance.

Dr. Bocangel was born in Perú and grew up in Perú and México, where she earned her medical degree and completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Bocangel moved to the United States and continued to work in research and public health, but also began to study acupuncture. After taking the course 'Structural Acupuncture for Physicians' from Harvard Medical School with David Euler and Kiiko Matsumoto, she decided to pursue a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture at AOMA in Austin, TX. Dr. Bocangel is also trained in Qi gong and Tai chi with Master Li and Dr Roger Jahnke.
Her goal is to help patients on their journey for better health with a holistic approach blending knowledge of Western medicine and Chinese Medicine, using Kiiko Matsumoto acupuncture style abdominal-based palpation, moxibustion, Chinese Herbs, nutritional and lifestyle counseling and Qi gong.
Dr. Bocangel’s medical background informs her understanding of pain management, auto-immune disease, gastrointestinal, and psycho-emotional disorders, and blends well with the IFM approach to holistic care.

Martha Towers, BSc Nursing

Office Manager & Registered Nurse

Martha brings decades of nursing experience along with a passion for integrative medicine, which she first discovered on her own health journey. She treats every patient like family and is a certified HeartMath Practitioner and life coach.

Martha attended the University of Alberta, Canada, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1994. She earned her certification in critical care and forensic nursing. She has practiced in various settings including labor and delivery, emergency, endoscopy lab, and post-anesthesia recovery unit. Martha’s interest in alternative medicine began when she embarked on her health journey to improve her quality of life. She found that while working in the mainstream medical system, it was difficult to find the root cause of her health issues. However, when she incorporated alternative modalities and naturopathic medicine into her life, she began to find relief in her symptoms. In 2015, she became a patient of Dr. Norris and adopted the integrative medicine philosophy. As her knowledge and experience with integrative medicine grew so did her passion to want to help and empower others to begin their health journey. In 2021, She became a team member of Integrative Family Medicine, where she treats each patient as one of the family. To further serve our patients, Martha completed her training as a HeartMath Certified Practitioner in 2023. Outside of the office, Martha enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time with her family and her beautiful dog Alice. Martha is a certified Martha Beck Life Coach and United States Master Swim Coach. She also is an active competitive swimmer.

Alicia Philbert

Medical Assistant

Known for her warm smile and positive spirit, Alicia brings over a decade of medical assisting and front office experience, making every patient feel welcome and cared for.

Alicia Philbert, a native of San Antonio, TX, is a reliable professional with over ten years of medical assistant and front office management experience. Her beautiful smile and her warm personality are wonderful assets to our Integrative Family Medicine team. She has been commended for her superior patient customer service and positive attitude. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and serving her church and community. Planning events is also a favorite past time of hers.

Maggie Peterson, BSc Nursing

Care Coordinator

A former labor and delivery nurse, Maggie is passionate about helping patients navigate their integrative health journey. She brings warmth, organization, and a focus on patient connection.

Maggie graduated from the University of Maryland with her BSN in 2013. She started her career in Labor and Delivery, but through her health journey has found a passion for integrative health and is grateful to help others on their journey to greater health and wellness. When not working she stays busy as an Air Force Wife and mom of two. She loves spending time outdoors, with dogs, yoga, gardening, and experimenting to make healthy food her kids actually like!

Diana Mamori

Business Manager & Life Coach

Diana keeps IFMSA running smoothly behind the scenes and brings added value as a certified life and self-care coach, helping patients build healthier lifestyles.

With more than 23 years of experience, Estelle is known for her skill and gentle touch, offering both in-office and mobile lab draw services.

Estelle is the owner/operator of Soft Touch Lab Services, LLC, and has over 23 years of experience with drawing blood and collecting and processing lab tests in a professional and efficient manner. She is in our clinic on Tuesdays to collect labs and is available via her mobile phlebotomy service the rest of the week. Our patients rave about her painless technique!
